Albina Ayapbek

The Batyrkhan Shukenov scholarship is a wonderful addition to my current and future achievements. Despite the fact that online rehearsals do not create the right and usual atmosphere for me, my teacher and I managed to achieve our goal.

Aiganym Shildebayeva

Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory (Almaty)
The Batyrkhan Shukenov scholarship is for me the result of my great love for music, my instrument and his work. I am planning to buy a second instrument, piccolo flute, as I already have the cross flute. I would like to attend more master classes and concerts, to raise my performance level. I am convinced that nothing is impossible and the main thing is to believe in yourself.

Inabat Belaya

Saxophone
Kazakh National University of Arts (Nur-Sultan)
Last year I also applied for a Batyr scholarship, but unfortunately I did not get it. This made me prepare even harder – I took a careful approach to the selection of the program, to the recording and now I am one of the 2020 scholarship holders. It’s certainly an indicator of growth, a challenge, and an inspiration for new discoveries. Upon graduation from the University of Arts, I would like to continue my studies and become a true professional.

I heard about the Batyrkhan Shukenov scholarship last year, I was offered to try my hand, however, I was not sure if I would succeed. I spent the whole year preparing a program and in spite of the difficulties caused by quarantine, I continued working. My hard work paid off and I am glad to have this opportunity to fulfill myself. It is a great motivation and since this year is my graduation year, I plan to graduate with honors. Then I want to go to one of the European conservatories and come back to develop the musical environment in Kazakhstan, especially the French horn performance.

Daniil Borisov

The Batyrkhan Shukenov scholarship is a big incentive for me, I am constantly studying and now I plan to work even harder. It means I am moving in the right direction and will be able to reach new heights.

This scholarship is very important for me, I am very happy that I won the scholarship and I took the 1 step forward to my goal. This is a new opportunity for young people who are going up in the future. I prepared for this contest with all my enthusiasm, the scholarship was very important to me.

This scholarship is a payoff for showing diligence, perseverance and activity, as well as a great opportunity to invest financially in the development of my potential. Since the first year I have actively participated in creative and social activities of the University and this grand convinced me even more to improve and gain new experience.
Daliya Smagulova

This is my first cash award! I have been preparing for the scholarship application all summer, being at my grandparents’ during quarantine, all my classes with the specialty teacher were online, but it seems that we made it. Thanks to the scholarship I am very inspired and want to study even more; I dream to participate in international contests and travel more.

Oboe

Akhmet Zhubanov Republican Secondary Specialized Music Boarding School for Gifted Children (Almaty)
For me, Batyr’s scholarship is an opportunity to be involved in the name of my favorite artist, which means a great responsibility.
The preparation for the submission was not easy – we did not see our teacher and accompanist, and we started preparing hard during the exemption period for only a month. I would like to fulfill my dream and study in the homeland of the oboe – France.

First of all, it is an honor to be a recipient of Batyr’s name scholarship, and my family and I are very proud of it. Everyday practice is a part of my life and I’m glad they singled me out. When my teacher Tasmukhan Issenov and I decided to apply for this scholarship, I wanted to play live and send a new recording, but quarantine separated me from my accompanist, Zhanar Khiduanova, and we had to send a video of my last performance with the orchestra at the Philharmonic in Almaty. I plan to finish 12th grade at my Zhubanov school, study abroad and play solo in symphony orchestras.
